STAR FERRY CRUISE EXPERIENCE (HONGKONG-MACAU TRIP Part 10)

STAR FERRY CRUISE EXPERIENCE (HONGKONG-MACAU TRIP Part 10)

That was our fourth day in Hongkong and this time, our destination were  Victoria Peak and Ocean Park. These two major tourist attractions are in the mainland Hongkong.

In going to the Victoria Peak, one can either take the train from Tsim Sha Tsui to Admiralty Station or take the Star Ferry to the Central. We’ve decided to take the Star Ferry.

From our hotel in Chungking Mansions we just walk to the Star Ferry Terminal. This is one thing I like staying in the Tsim Sha Tsui, Ferry Terminal including the China-Macau is just a walking distance.

The Star Ferry is a favourite among the local people because it is an affordable, convenient and quick  way to cross Victoria Harbour. For me taking the Ferry  was  an unbeatable way to catch a glimpse of the magnificent Hong Kong.We took the upper deck and there were few passengers at that time. So It was easy for me to take pictures from booth sides of the vessel.

The Hong Kong Star Ferry is one of the city’s iconic tourist attractions and has been cruising Victoria Harbour, between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, since the late 1800’s.

The Hong Kong Star Ferry is one of the city’s iconic tourist attractions and has been cruising Victoria Harbour, between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, since the late 1800’s.

The Star Ferry runs along a number of routes, however, the original, and most popular route is between Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon and Central on Hong Kong Island. Ferries on this route run as frequently as every 8 minutes cost HK$2.50 –HK$3.00 and take less than 10 mins. The first ferry is at around 6:30 am and the final ferry at 11:30 pm. Check out where to catch the ferry with the Star Ferry route map. Tokens for a ferry ride can be bought at the Star ferry terminal. There are also Star Ferry routes between Tsim Sha Tsui – Wan Chai, Hung Hom – Wan Chai, and Hung Hom- Central.

In the evening, passengers can enjoy the gentle breeze from the sea and the world-famous sights of Victoria Harbor; also, you can  experience the Symphony of lights while cruising.
